    Last updated: 12 October 2026

This policy explains how EODSurvival collects and uses personal information when you visit eodsurvival.com, join our mailing list, or buy something from us. It covers both website visitors and customers.

    Introduction

EODSurvival ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website eodsurvival.com or use our services.

    Who we are

EODSurvival (trading name), 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom, is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in this policy, or about your information, at admin@eodsurvival.com.

We are a small UK publisher. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your information for anything other than what this policy describes. We do show advertising, and you can refuse the cookies that make it personalised.

    Information We Collect

    Information you give us

    • Name and email address (newsletter signup, contact forms, notify-me requests)
    • Comments and feedback
    • Information in correspondence with us, including any cancellation or refund request

Information we collect when you buy from us

    • Your name, email address and, for a paperback, the delivery address you give us
    • What you ordered, the amount paid, the date and time of the order, and your order reference
    • Whether you agreed to immediate delivery of digital content and acknowledged the loss of your right to cancel, and when you did so
    • Records of any cancellation, refund or complaint, and how it was resolved
    • Payment is handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation that payment has been made and a limited reference for the transaction. We do not receive or store your full card details.

    Automatically Collected Information

    • IP address and browser type
    • Device information and operating system
    • Pages visited and time spent on site
    • Referring website information
    • Cookies and similar tracking technologies

    How We Use Your Information

    • To provide and maintain our website and services
    • To send newsletters and updates (with your consent)
    • To respond to your enquiries and customer service requests
    • To improve our website and user experience
    • To analyse website usage and trends
    • To comply with legal obligations

    Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where we need to in order to run the site, fulfil your order and display advertising, as set out below:

    • Payhip processes payments and delivers digital downloads and order confirmations. Payhip's own privacy notice applies to the payment transaction.
    • BookVault prints and posts paperbacks. It receives the name and delivery address needed to send your order.
    • Our email and hosting providers store our mailing list, send our emails and host this website.
    • Our accounting and tax advisers where we are required to keep records of sales.
    • Legal requirements: where we are required by law, by a regulator or by a court to disclose information, or where we need to in order to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
    • Business transfer: if the business or its assets are ever sold or transferred, information may pass to the buyer as part of that transfer. We would tell you before that happened.
    • With your consent: where you have specifically agreed to it.
    • Google Analytics measures how the website is used. It is loaded only if you agree to analytics cookies, and it involves a transfer outside the UK and the EEA (see "Transfers outside the UK and the EEA" below).
    • Google AdSense and its advertising partners display advertising on this site. Where you have agreed to advertising cookies, they may receive information about your visits in order to select and measure advertising. This involves a transfer outside the UK and the EEA (see "Transfers outside the UK and the EEA" below).

Our processors are only permitted to use your information on our instructions, and only for the purposes set out above. Where we use a processor outside the UK or the EEA, see "Transfers outside the UK and the EEA" below.

Our lawful bases for using your information

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are:

    • Contract: to take your order, supply what you have bought, provide the download or dispatch the paperback, handle cancellations and refunds, and keep the order record. If you do not give us this information, we cannot supply the product.
    • Legal obligation: to keep sales, VAT and tax records for the period the law requires, and to handle complaints and consumer rights properly.
    • Legitimate interests: to run and secure this website, to understand which articles are useful, to prevent fraud and misuse, and to answer your questions. We balance these against your rights and you can object to this at any time (see "Your rights").
    • Consent: to send you our newsletter, to send paperback availability emails, and to set any cookies that are not strictly necessary. You can withdraw consent at any time, and it is as easy to withdraw as it was to give.

How long we keep your information

    • Order, sales and VAT records: six years from the end of the relevant accounting period, because UK tax law requires it.
    • Cancellation, refund and consumer rights records: six years, so that we can show we handled your request properly and within the legal timescales.
    • Newsletter and notify-me lists: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. We may remove addresses that have been inactive for a long period.
    • General enquiries and correspondence: up to two years after the matter is closed.
    • Website analytics and log data: for the retention period set by our analytics provider, which we keep as short as we reasonably can.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or anonymise it.

Transfers outside the UK and the EEA

Some of our service providers are based outside the UK and the EEA, or store data there. Where we transfer personal information outside the UK or the EEA, we make sure a lawful safeguard is in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with a transfer risk assessment where one is needed. You can ask us for more detail at admin@eodsurvival.com.

For the purposes of Article 27 of the EU GDPR, our representative in the EU is:

    Paul Brooks
61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom
    Email: admin@eodsurvival.com

Our representative can be contacted about anything in this policy, and about the exercise of your rights under the EU GDPR.

    Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:

    • Strictly necessary cookies: required for the website to work, including remembering your cookie choices. These are always on.
    • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics, which we use to understand how the site is used. These are only set if you agree.
    • Advertising cookies: set by Google AdSense and its advertising partners to display and measure advertising, including advertising based on your interests. These are only set if you agree.

We use Google AdSense to display advertising on this site. Where you agree to advertising cookies, Google and its partners may use information about your visits to this and other websites to select advertising based on your interests. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer, and you can read about how Google uses this information and control personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com.

Cookies that are not strictly necessary are only set with your consent, and you can refuse them without losing access to the site. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how the site works for you.

Some pages contain links to third parties, including affiliate partners. Those sites set their own cookies and have their own privacy notices, and we are not responsible for them.

    Third-Party Services

Our website may include links to third-party services:

    • Google Analytics: For website analytics
    • Google AdSense: for displaying advertising
    • Email Marketing Services: For newsletter management
    • Social Media Platforms: For sharing and engagement
    • Affiliate Links: To recommended products and services

These services have their own privacy policies which govern their use of your information.

    Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

    Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EU, you have the right to:

    • be told what we do with your information, and to receive a copy of it
    • have inaccurate information corrected
    • have your information deleted where there is no good reason for us to keep it
    • object to our using your information where we rely on legitimate interests
    • restrict what we do with your information while a concern is looked into
    • receive your information in a portable format, or have it sent to another provider, where we hold it on the basis of consent or contract
    • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
    • not be subject to a decision made solely by automated means that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you

To exercise any of these rights, email admin@eodsurvival.com. We will respond within one month, and we will not charge you. If we need longer, or if we cannot do what you have asked, we will explain why.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. If you live in the EU, you can complain to the supervisory authority in your own country.

    Children's Privacy

Our website is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not market our publications to children. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before sending us anything.

    Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect a change in what we do, in our service providers or in the law. The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you by email if you are on our mailing list or have bought something from us, or by a clear notice on the website, before it takes effect. We keep earlier versions and can provide one on request.
